Market development activities

The University (previous known as University College Northampton) supported the formation of the RNUK in its earliest days.

The Centre for Sustainable Wastes Management was established with support from the SITA Environmental Trust in 2002 to encourage and disseminate information about sustainable wastes management practices.

The Centre works on projects such as:
- researching new markets for recycled materials
- mapping current and potential reprocessing and remanufacturing
- working on projects to develop and commercialise new technologies
- supporting recycling businesses through the Northamptonshire Resource Efficiency
Network and the Northamptonshire Waste Network.

The University credits the success of its work on recyclables market development projects to the strong element of partnership and trust with other organisations.
