Description
Remade Wessex, the new name for ReMaDe South West, was established in 2001 with the aim of providing business, engineering and technical assistance to manufacturers and local governments for increasing the use of recycled materials.
Our objectives:
- Support local economic growth;
- create new jobs in the reprocessing and collection sectors;
- attract £5 million capital investment to the South West;
- develop new markets for recyclables in the South West;
- expand reprocessing capacity for recyclables in the South East by at least 100,000 tonnes by the end of 2003;
- increase household and commercial recycling levels in the South West;
- address national targets for recycling and diversion of waste from landfill;
- endorse the proximity principle and minimise environmental impacts, particularly transport-related burdens
