Description

Recyclable Market Development Essex is an ambitious project set up in 2000 to create new markets and secondary uses for recycled materials in Essex..

Market development activities

Remade Essex plays a vital role in bridging the gap between waste producer and those that can make use of the materials that wastes contain. Remade Essex brokers not the waste itself but the processes that are needed to make waste valuable as a resource for the reusable materials it contains.

Remade Essex engages with waste processors to help them understand what potential customers require as input specifications and how the processes they employ will provide this with consideration for carbon balance and at economical cost. Waste producers are often involved in this process as it may require some behavioural change on their part, for example, in terms of how the waste is source segregated.
