Description

Envirolink Northwest is supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) to improve the competitiveness of the region’s ETS sector and to ensure Northwest companies realise the business opportunities this sector offers.

Three core teams exist:
1. Energy and Renewables
2. Integrated Land and Water
3.Recycling and Waste

Market development activities

The Recycling and Waste team was set up in 2006 to support the sector in the development of technology and markets to increase growth and to divert waste from landfill. This is achieved through a unique delivery model:
  • Research & Development – facilitating co-operative research and development work in industry and academia.

  • Technology Commercialisation – demonstrating capabilities of new technologies.

  • Sector Development – supporting the North West region to become the premier hub for waste related operations, throughout the UK and worldwide.

  • Market Development – ensuring that high-value and practical uses are developed for materials produced by waste treatment and recycling.
